Leslie’s Book Shelf
Off the rack.
There is nothing more comforting to me than finding a good book. It can be a book for reading, book for decoration, or a book for inspiration. The art of needlepoint can begin with instructive collections of stitches that my friends and I have carefully tested and curated, or stories of writers and artists who love to needlepoint so much that they stitched everything from a desk blotters to a chairs. Your own book collection can start here, too, with beautiful magazines that will inspire and delight.

Books
A note about an author.
Out of print, but not out of mind.
I discovered Maggie Lane early on in my needlepoint life. Starting with a blank canvas, I carefully followed her impeccable designs which were faithful to the land of her birth, China. She loved fashioning thread dragons, exotic birds, pagodas, flowers, fish and shells from paintings, porcelains and rugs.
If you find one of these books, add it to your library.
